Every year, on May 20th, the anniversary of the historic battle of Maniaki is celebrated, at the local communities of Maniaki and Flesiada, in the Municipality of Pylos-Nestoros.
The event begins in the morning, where the Divine Liturgy is held in the Church of the Holy Trinity in the area “Tambouria”, in the T.K. Flesida. The memorial service is then chanted and wreaths are deposited at the monument.
The ceremony continues in the courtyard of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, in Maniaki, in front of the statue of hero Papaflessas, with the deposition of wreaths, dancing of traditional dances and singing of folk songs by the pupils of Chora and
Vlachopoulos Primary schools, and also the societies from the area who are dressed in traditional clothes
